POSITION PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Director of Staffing Services will be responsible for the strategic oversight of provider recruitment, credentialing, and scheduling. The expectations for this role include routinely assessing recruitment needs, researching market and best practices, ensuring the Staffing Summary report is up to date, leading staffing service meetings, and ensuring strategic objectives are achieved. The Director will also develop high-level strategy for provider recruitment, oversee the company’s provider credentialing program, provide leadership and support to the scheduling staff, attend leadership meetings, and participate in individual, team, and company meetings and events. Work Hours: Monday – Thursday (8:00am – 4:30pm) Friday (8:00am- 2:00pm)

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year.

EXPERIENCE we would require.

  • Extensive leadership and management experience, with extensive study of leadership as a discipline
  • Significant experience working in healthcare in a hospital setting (recruitment, credentialing, and/or scheduling experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Our EXPECTATIONS

Strategic Oversight

  1. Routinely and proactively assess recruitment needs and communicate needs to recruiting team and broader team. 
  2. Research market and best practices for all areas of responsibility to bring innovation and improvement across all teams. 
  3. Ensure the Staffing Summary report is kept up to date.
  4. Lead staffing services meetings and communicate priorities, initiatives, and issues to broader team.
  5. Ensure strategic objectives of the organization and roadmap initiatives of the various areas of responsibility are prioritized appropriately and achieved. 

Provider Recruitment Oversight 

  1. Develop high-level strategy and direction for the provider recruitment program. 
    1. Work closely with the Provider Recruitment Manager to implement strategy and provider recruitment roadmaps. 
    2. Develop long-term recruitment programs with the vision of providing for the company’s recruitment needs well into the future. 
  2. Investigate new avenues for provider recruitment to ensure a constant and full pipeline of providers coming into the company.
  3. Coordinate with the Director of Client Relations regarding client-facility preferences and needs regarding provider team members.
  4. Work with the Provider Recruitment Manager to establish ongoing provider recruitment needs by client facility and by priority. 
  5. Conduct Emergency Department physician interviews.

Provider Credentialing Oversight

  1. Working with the Credentialing Manager, oversee Company provider credentialing program to ensure Company providers are credentialed in accordance with client bylaws.
    1. Compliance with licenses and certification requirements.
    2. The licensing processes for providers are as efficient and timely as possible; and
    3. Credentialing deadlines are relayed to the Scheduling and Recruitment teams for Recruitment needs.
  2. Ensure the credentialing team is apprised of changes to state and hospital-specific rules and requirements relating to provider credentialing. 

Provider Scheduling Oversight 

  1. Provide leadership, guidance, development opportunities, and support to the scheduling staff. 
    1. Call brainstorming sessions with the Vice President of Clinical Operations and Client Relations and Director of Client Relations when particularly difficult scheduling situations arise. 
    2. Review schedules routinely. Work with the Client Relations Team (the Vice President of Client Relations as well as the Director of Client Relations) to make sure client hospitals’ specific needs are met. 
    3. Approve bonuses for providers above predetermined threshold and provide advice on provider bonuses as needed. 
    4. Meet weekly (and more frequently during challenging schedule seasons) with Scheduling Team to review open shifts and scheduling issues. 
  2. Communicate with the Vice President of Client Relations and the CMO regarding provider issues that will affect the provider’s ability to remain on the schedule. Relay these potential issues to the Scheduling Manager. 
  3. Ensure the Provider Threats are kept up to date and are accurate, in the CRM. 
    1. Work with the Scheduling team and Client Relations team to identify any current providers who may have the availability and fit to go to other client facilities. 

Senior Clinical Leadership Team Member and Clinical Leadership Team Member

  1. Attend bi-monthly SCLT Meetings.
  2. Attend quarterly CLT Meetings.
  3. Lead discussion in occasional CLT Meetings. 

Senior Leadership Team Member 

  1. Assist in company-wide business and strategic planning. 
  2. Assist in company-wide, operational decision-making.
  3. Contingency planning.
  4. Work on special projects as designated.
  5. Attend weekly and ad hoc meetings.
